The Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) is a monthly gathering and service organization for all senior citizens of Glen Ellyn Bible Church. We visit local attractions, plan fun outings and share meals together. Seniors are encouraged to invite their friends for this time of fellowship. If you would like to be on our mailing list, please click the link at the bottom of the page to contact Melodee Yohe.
November and December Events
For the 65 and older crowd…
We have had some terrific events this fall already. Here are some additional items to add:
On Thursday, November 21, at noon, we are invited to Ruth & Charlie’s lovely Windsor apartment for lunch. The price will be $7 per person. After lunch, we will have a guest share a personal testimony. Reservations MUST be in by Monday, November 18, either to the Ochs (630-665-1399, or firstname.lastname@example.org) or to me (630-668-3434, or email@example.com). If you need a ride, or are willing to pick someone up, please discuss that when you register. Come prepared to briefly share something you are especially thankful to the Lord for this past year!
As always, the fantastic Glen Ellyn-Wheaton Chorale is giving their Christmas concert at College Church on Friday, December 6. A number of us will take that in too, so we will get tickets from Noma Johns (630-653-0405; firstname.lastname@example.org). How better to start the Christmas season with beautiful music?
On December 7, we will enjoy a buffet dinner at Lenaye Schmidt’s beautiful home at 166 Kenilworth in Glen Ellyn. This will take place after the Christmas Festival at Wheaton College at 4 p.m. If you are not going to the concert, you should arrive at Lenaye’s about 6 p.m. Please bring a side dish for the buffet.
Also, the next Hymn Sing at Compass Church is Sunday, December 8. It’s a very popular event so this year, they are having one at 3 p.m. and a repeat at 6 p.m. Your choice. This is not an official SAM event, but it’s a great one to do on your own with friends. Talk about a music-filled weekend! We’ll think we died and went to heaven!
