Membership is an important part of the life of the local church. By becoming a member of Glen Ellyn Bible Church, you strengthen the church through your commitment to serve and support the ministries of the church.
STEP 1: Attend a membership class.
Our next two membership classes will be held on Sunday Sept. 17th and 24th from 6:00-7:30pm. You only need to attend one of these classes. During this time, you will have the opportunity to meet other perspective members and learn more about the theology, philosophy, and ministry of GEBC as well as the Elders, staff, and sending partners.
Click here to email Carolyn Docter to register for one of our upcoming classes.
STEP 2: Complete a membership application.
The membership application will be due by Sunday October 1st.

STEP 3: Participate in a scheduled interview with an Elder.
The elders review every membership application. Each applicant is then interviewed individually by two elders and you will have the opportunity to sign up for a time slot during your initial membership class. During the interview the applicants are encouraged to ask any questions they may have about GEBC. No decision about membership is made during the interview. Elders debrief with the entire board before a decision is made. Once a decision is reached concerning you application, the board will extend an invitation for membership by email. These interviews will be held on Sunday mornings Oct 8th and Oct 15th during the 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. worship services.
STEP 4: Be presented to the congregation as a member during a scheduled Sunday service.
Upon approval for membership by the Elder Board, new members will be introduced to the congregation during one of the worship services on Sunday Nov 5th. NOTE: Presentation is an important step in the membership process. If you are unable to be presented to the congregation, your membership process will be delayed until you can be presented.
STEP 5: New Members’ Lunch
You and your family are invited to join us for a celebration lunch on presentation Sunday Nov 5th, after the second service. Children are welcome!
